Although I didn't get a chance to see this the night it aired, I saw this clip later on Hulu (and everywhere else on the Internet). With so much negativity in all aspects of the media, and given everything that he had recently gone through with NBC, it was great to hear him give a message with so much optimism:
"Please, do not be cynical. I hate cynicism. For the record, it’s my least favorite quality. It doesn’t lead anywhere. Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you’re kind, amazing things will happen. I’m telling you, amazing things will happen. I’m telling you, it’s just true."
His statement is a great reminder that despite any setbacks you may encounter, no matter how unwanted or unexpected, that there is always hope. It may take dedication and effort, but it will lead you somewhere better. Negativity leads you nowhere and helps you achieve nothing.
